The boy groggily opened his eyes, and tiredly pushed himself up... "Huh... where am I... I can’t feel..." he noted. He turned his head to grasp a sight of just about anything. It was pitch black. "Oh, my goodness..." His tainted vision blurred to blue, lighting up the area. "A cave? Why the hedge am I in a cave?" Color slowly returned to his vision... he got up from where he was sitting, and brushed himself off.
He looked up and saw a ledge. "I can reach that, surely." He backed up a few paces, and ran towards it. "What the-" he was cut off by a splash landing into an unknown amount of water below. He swam over slowly to land, and with regained vitality he had another crack at the ledge. This time, he made it. He notices a door and tries to open it."Rusty. Well then..."
He slams himself into the door, it comes loose… but the impact was significant enough to cause some real pain to himself, and as well make him stumble to the floor. He now tries to open it once more, but it does not open. So he tries using a little more force, and then he is able to push it open with just about no problem.
Light pours in gloriously from the outside world. The door, when pushed all the way out, falls and startles the boy. But the light… it took only moments to adjust to, but he was fine with it for the most part. The sky is a light blue with no clouds to be seen for miles. And the grass was lush, it seems to had not been cut for as much as a million years; however, the grass had not an impeding view of the vast world, which stretches from the far left and right. All he sees is grass for miles and miles.
So he begins his long and tedious walk into any direction. And for a moment, he felt something, possibly a feeling of excitement. He thinks to himself...
Good Morning:
Curtains are drawn open by the the boy’s mother. Light pours into the room instantaneously. “Where are we…?” He mutters to himself in discontent. “Time to wake up!” his mother replies with excitement. “ It’s time to raise your head and face the day once more.”
“Can we wait? Just a few more hours of sleep?” The boy tiredly opens his eyes and shifts around a little to see his mother’s face staring down at him in his bed.
“Well... ” She pauses for a moment then eagerly breaks her own silence, “Breakfast is ready!” Then she quickly walks out of the room closing the door considerately.
He manages to hop out of bed at the idea of getting a nice plate of food for breakfast! He ecstatically puts on a pair of socks from the top drawer his dresser and heads to the dining room in his home with no pauses.
The smell of blueberry muffins filled the air with an excellently tasteful aroma. He see’s his family already sitting around the 6 seat table getting their breakfasts. His father gives a quizzacious, “Hello there, number 4!” as he walks into the dining room. The boy takes a seat in his chair and nobody else really cares enough to pay attention. After all, everybody was already digging into their meals. And it was time for him to do the same. Plates were scattered across the table with plenty of bacon, toast, chipped beef, bacon, and much much more. The boy gently takes some toast, a few pieces of bacon, some fruit salad, and a muffin. And then grabs a spoonful of chipped beef, and he slathers it all right on his toast…
An amazing memory is all it is though. The food tasted amazing, sure. But, what about now? We shouldn’t just look to the past, should we?
Once More, With Feeling:
He continues his walk without any knowledge of where he should be going. All he knows is that moving will land him the highest chances of actually finding some sort civilization or at least getting somewhere at all.
Fog begins to roll in from his far right. Slowly, the fog encapsulates his entire being. The fog slows his breathing, and mists his vision. His hands being to feel moist. The fog was not helping him find civilization one bit. However, there was nowhere to go to to get away from the fog. So, he just kept walking, on and on without any confrontation from animals or even bugs and insects.
After an hour of walking, he sees a beach, far out of his way. “ A port, maybe?” he quietly explains to himself. “ This isn’t just some untouched island, right?” He walks towards the beach. “ At least I have an idea of where I’m going now.”
Another hour of walking passes… And another… And another. He never gets the feeling of boredom though. He seems excited, to see something new. The beach, which had sand from side to side, running all the way across the ocean. He couldn’t see anything for miles over the ocean; however he didn’t so look long until he had noticed a soldier collapsed on the beach. They are dressed in garbs of white and orange. They seem long passed though. A messer of carbon content 6150 had been lodged in their chest. A very nice blade indeed; however, why would the owner just leave it in this soldier’s chest? Anyways, a blade would be nice to chop away any unwanted foliage… or biomaterial in general. So, he takes the tool into his own hand, being careful to not disrupt the body more than it already has been.
